segmentation


Segmentation is targeting more than one audience in different ways so it appeals to many people in different aspects of what is being shown through the film / programme. Segmentation can be applied by creating different film posters that attract to the different audiences. For example, the two film posters for Rollin’ with the nines are contrasting in the scene that the first one is open to a more wider range of people as it includes a female and more characters and cover lines that suggest it is for an older audience, whereas the second poster has two black males which make the target audience seem as if it is for males only, also the cover lines suggest that it is for a younger audience due to the slang used within the poster.
